Risk Manager - Risk Framework

Do you want to contribute to the core activities of Rabobank’s risk management function? Are you interested in setting policy for the bank, and improving our policy framework? Do you feel strongly about the bank’s risk appetite statement, about its business plan, or about identifying the bank’s material sustainability topics? Or do you want to help us to formulate the risk strategy, design and maintain the risk framework, and report on the developments of a wide set of risk indicators to the bank’s senior management?

You and your job

As Risk Manager in the Risk Framework team you will be responsible for designing, implementing, coordinating, and delivering a number of group-wide risk initiatives and products. You will work closely with risk specialists from other CRO departments like Credit Risk, Operational Risk, and Compliance, Group ALM. But also with representatives from business lines, subsidiaries, and group functions like CFO and Group Sustainability. Specialist knowledge is welcome, but it is a must to have a broad view of the risks that result from the bank’s operations.

Practical examples

Develop and maintain a consistent, comprehensive, and accessible policy framework for the bank;
Engage with senior managers about emerging risks that may affect the bank’s strategy and business model;
Help identify the environmental, social and governance (ESG) topics that are material for the bank;
Coordinate the annual review of the risk appetite of the bank, through which it safeguards its strategic ambitions in the long run;
Provide senior management with adequate information to identify the areas where it takes more risk than it has appetite for, and ensure relevant management action is taken;
Run the secretariat of the Group Risk Management Committee.

Responsibilities

The team is responsible for the bank’s policy framework, risk governance, risk strategy, risk identification, risk appetite, risk reporting (incl. BCBS 239), and ESG materiality analysis;
We are a team with people that have broad experience in banking and risk management. Assignment of responsibilities to individuals in the team will be based on personal interests, experience and availability.

The Risk Framework team is part of the Enterprise Risk - Regulatory & Risk Framework team that focuses on various group-wide risk management topics that cover multiple risk types (e.g. credit risk, market risk, operational risk, etc.). The team collaborates closely with a wide range of teams within the CRO domain, and with colleagues from CFO, Group Sustainability, the subsidiaries, etc.

You and your talent

Master’s degree, preferably in Finance or Economics, Law, or related field;
Banking- or related experience (>2 years);
Risk management experience;
Project management experience;
Strong stakeholder management and communicative skills, and/or
Understanding of the bank’s regulatory environment.
